Ideal for ages 5-8 who love cartoons, comics, and creating their own characters. Perfect for beginners and budding young artists who want to take their drawing skills to the next level.

What They’ll Learn

In this class, kids will:

• Learn step-by-step techniques for drawing expressive faces and body poses
• Explore how to create original characters with personality and style
• Practice sketching, shading, and adding details to bring drawings to life
• Build confidence as they share their creations with the group

Instructor Bio

Led by Mira Armstrong, an OCAD graduate and professional artist with many years of experience teaching all age groups. Mira is technically gifted and highly skilled at translating her knowledge into lessons children can easily understand and enjoy — making even advanced concepts approachable and fun.

End Experience

By the end of the session, each student will have created their own mini character portfolio — complete with unique designs they can continue to develop. A short “Character Showcase” at the final class lets kids present their favorite drawing to friends and family.
