Arts on Fire

Perfect for ages 7–14 who love working with their hands and want to explore the art of 3D creation. This short course is ideal for beginners and young artists curious about sculpting.

What They’ll Learn

In this 3-week course, students will:

• Learn sculpting basics including shaping, joining, and texturing air-dry clay
• Explore how to add detail and dimension to their designs
• Finish their piece with paint to bring their sculpture to life
• Build patience and creativity through hands-on work with clay

Why It Matters

Sculpting teaches more than just technique — it develops fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and problem-solving. Students will experience the satisfaction of starting with raw material and ending with a finished, personalized artwork they can proudly display at home.

Class Format & Schedule

📅 Wednesdays, 5-6:30pm. Nov 5, 12, 19
📍 Arts on Fire Studio, Ajax
⚠️ Students must join on the first day to complete the project from start to finish.

Instructor Bio

Led by Lida Kamaluddin, a professionally trained sculptor and art educator who guides students through the entire creative process with patience and encouragement. Lida’s work has been purchased and displayed in museums, and she has held several gallery shows, bringing real-world artistic experience into the classroom. Her calm, supportive teaching style ensures every student feels confident as they create.

End Experience

By the end of the course, students will have created and painted their very own air-dry clay sculpture, gaining hands-on experience in both sculpting and finishing techniques.

These stand-alone enrichment classes let students dive deep into a specific theme or medium outside of the core track. Great as a complement to our Portfolio or Pre-Portfolio programs—or simply for fun!
