[JAN - MAR] Anime Drawing and Drama - Learn Illustration, Storytelling & Stage Skills | Ages 5-12 | Saturdays 11am-12:30pm | 5 Weeks | Exploration

Designed for ages 5-12, this unique hybrid class is perfect for kids and youth who love both creating art and performing. Whether your child is into anime, storytelling, or just trying new creative outlets, this course combines the best of both worlds in one fun session.

What They’ll Learn

In each 90-minute class, students split their time between two exciting studios:

  • Anime Drawing (45 minutes): Learn anime-inspired drawing techniques, focusing on proportion, expression, and dynamic character design. Guided lessons improve manual dexterity, precision, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Drama & Performance (45 minutes): Play collaborative improv and drama games, create short scenes, and build stage presence. Students strengthen social confidence, presentation skills, and storytelling abilities.

Why It Matters

This hybrid approach gives students well-rounded creative growth. Anime drawing sharpens focus, patience, and fine motor skills, while drama builds confidence, communication, and teamwork. Together, they provide youth with skills that support both artistic development and personal growth — preparing them for success in school, auditions, and beyond.

Instructor Bio

Taught by Colleen Jackson, who is both a talented anime artist and a dynamic drama educator who makes theatre accessible and fun. Colleen will ensure every student gets both technical instruction and a playful performance experience.

End Experience

By the end of the session, students will have developed a mini collection of anime character drawings and experienced the thrill of performing scenes with peers — building confidence both on the page and on stage.
